Stakeholders
There are several key stakeholders in a new e-commerce website project. These can include the project manager and members of the project team, the owner or sponsor of the website, the customer or users of the website, and any external vendors or partners who are involved in the project (See my Prefilled Out-of-the-Box Project plan Template). Other stakeholders may include investors, regulatory agencies, and any other individuals or organizations who have an interest in the success of the project. It is important to identify all of the stakeholders and to involve them in the planning and execution of the project, in order to ensure that the website meets their needs and expectations.
Interview Stakeholders
When interviewing senior stakeholders during the development and design of a new e-commerce website, it is important to have a well-defined interview guideline to ensure that the interviews are productive and informative.
A possible interview guideline could include the following questions:
- What are the main goals and objectives of the website?
- Who is the target audience for the website?
- What are the key features and functionalities that the website should have?
- How will the website support the overall business strategy?
- What are the key performance indicators (KPIs) that will be used to measure the success of the website?
- What are the potential risks and challenges associated with the website project?
- What are the key stakeholders and how will their needs and expectations be addressed in the design of the website?
- What is the expected timeline and budget for the website project?
- What is the process for making decisions and resolving conflicts during the development and design of the website?
By asking these questions, the interviewer can gain a better understanding of the stakeholders’ priorities and concerns, and can use this information to inform the development and design of the website. It is also important to allow the stakeholders to ask questions and provide feedback during the interviews, in order to ensure that their perspectives are considered in the design of the website.
